RETROFIT55 Project started

On January 1, 2023, the RETROFIT55 project was kicked-off in a meeting between participating partners. This is a 3-year project aiming to implement the co-programmed European Partnership on ‘Zero Emission Waterborne Transport’ (ZEWT).

RETROFIT55 aims to develop decarbonization solutions and green technologies which can be used by ship-owners to reduce fuel consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

Focus shall be to achieve targets of the ZEWT partnership which is to develop and demonstrate solutions to be able to reduce the fuel consumption of waterborne transport by at least 55% before 2030 compared to 2008.

Atlantec Enterprise Solutions GmbH is responsible for the development of a web-based configurator tool aiming to provide most suitable choice and combination of existing and potentially available green technologies to be applied for a specific vessel in order to minimize the energy consumption and emissions while assessing cost/benefits.
