Topgallant™ is a suite of interoperability software solutions designed by shipbuilding experts for the marine industry. Topgallant enables isolated applications running on different platforms at any location to function as a distributed, inter-operable system.

Topgallant is web-enabled and supports collaboration among large project teams. Users can access legacy data and connect to other applications or data sources. Importantly, Topgallant provides an information infrastructure to manage and control data in an extended enterprise.

Components

Topgallant Adapters

Adapters are standard software components that offer a new, practical method to link enterprise information. Publisher Adapters make information available, while Subscriber Adapters consume published information. All Topgallant Adapters perform data model normalization and mapping, providing standardized access to information from different sources. Topgallant Adapters are built on Atlantec-es¹ Adapter technology that provides powerful, standard, packaged solutions for legacy system and data access.

Topgallant Communication Server

Topgallant Communication Server provides the network backbone for Topgallant Adapters. Topgallant Communication Server connects Adapters located on virtually any computer network at any location. Communication Server manages message exchange between adapters, providing a truly distributed environment operating over public or corporate networks. Powerful security and encryption tools ensure secure data transfer.

Topgallant Information Server

Topgallant Information Server provides a distributed information infrastructure that manages virtually any type of data located anywhere in an enterprise. This directory server indexes enterprise and project data, enabling users to search, access, and manage data from any source. Information Server entries identify data details including source, author, and version that are created by Topgallant Publishing Adapters connected to legacy data sources, databases, files, documents, or network.

Topgallant Application Server

Topgallant Application Server provides an operating environment for Web applications and components in a shipbuilding enterprise. A provided web browser product, Enterprise Viewer, offers browsing and viewing of product, process, and facility information.

Production Monitor

Utilizing information from Topgallant Adapters, Production Monitor provides 3D product and production information combining status reporting, tracking, scheduling and control.

Atlantec-es Enterprise Reference Model for Shipbuilding

This model is a catalogue of specific requirements of the maritime industry. It identifies and describes all relevant types of business objects in the industry such as organization, facilities, processes, and product domains.
