Sustainability applied to shipbuilding and ship operations

On the pathway to Zero Emissions Waterborne Transport the maritime industry needs new ideas and systematic approaches. The goal is clearly set by international regulations, e.g. issued by IMO and EU, so it is on us to contribute with solutions to

• predict

• evaluate

• monitor

• and validate

the emissions in shipbuilding and ship operations. Using machine learning and AI routines, decisions support systems are specifically developed to minimize the environmental impact of ships during their life cycle. Real data are collected at shipyards, in testing energy saving devices and onboard in ship operation. All such information is processed and presented to support and evidence the effect of any new build and refit job on the GHG balance. Our state-of-the art approaches are initiated by national and international research projects and further matured to serve the stakeholders in shipping.
